Learning Starts Here

Homeopathy can feel unfamiliar at first, and it is natural to have questions. Whether you are considering an individual consultation, hoping to support your family at home, or simply curious about how homeopathy works, the information below will help you understand what to expect.

Frequently
Asked Questions

Homeopathy Basics

What is homeopathy?

Homeopathy is a distinct system of medicine based on the principle of “like supports like.” This means that a substance capable of producing certain symptoms when prepared homeopathically may be used to support someone experiencing similar symptoms.

One familiar example is Allium cepa, a homeopathic medicine prepared from red onion. Cutting an onion can cause watery, burning eyes, a runny nose, and sneezing. Because these symptoms resemble certain allergy symptoms, Allium cepa is commonly considered when that particular symptom pattern is present.

What is Practical Homeopathy®?

Practical Homeopathy® combines the foundational principles of homeopathy with practical protocols that can be incorporated into everyday life. The Banerji Protocols provide a strong foundation for my work. These protocols were developed through generations of clinical experience by the Banerji family of India and use specific homeopathic medicines, potencies, and dosing schedules for common health concerns.

At the same time, I recognize that every person and every case is unique. When needed, I draw from ongoing research, advanced mentorship, and the broader collective experience of homeopaths past and present.

How is this different from classical homeopathy?

Classical homeopathy commonly seeks one highly individualized constitutional medicine based on a person’s complete physical, mental, and emotional picture.

Practical Homeopathy® often uses established protocols and combinations of medicines based on the concerns and symptoms being addressed. This creates a structured and approachable method while still allowing each plan to be personalized to the individual.

What are homeopathic medicines made from?

Homeopathic medicines may begin with substances from plants, minerals, or other natural sources. They are prepared through a repeated process of dilution and succussion, or vigorous shaking, according to established homeopathic methods.

They are available in different strengths, called potencies, and are commonly found as small pellets, liquid preparations, tablets, or topical products.

Can homeopathy be used alongside conventional care?

Many people choose to incorporate homeopathy alongside conventional care. During your consultation, please share any medications, supplements, therapies, or other approaches you are currently using so that I can better understand your complete situation.

Homeopathic support is not a replacement for emergency care, necessary medical evaluation, or advice from your licensed healthcare providers.

How quickly might I notice changes?

Every person and situation is different. Some people notice changes relatively quickly, while longer-standing or more complex concerns may require time, observation, and adjustments along the way. My goal is to create a clear starting plan, monitor your response, and make thoughtful changes when needed.

Homeopathic Consultations

What happens during an initial consultation?

Before we meet, you will complete intake paperwork that allows me to become familiar with your primary concerns and relevant history.

During our 60-minute virtual consultation, we will discuss the concerns you would most like to address, their history, how they currently affect you, and what you hope to accomplish. My goal is for you to feel heard and for us to develop a clear understanding of where you would most like support.

After our appointment, I will research your case and create a personalized homeopathic plan. Your written plan will include the homeopathic medicines, potencies, and dosing instructions I recommend, along with information about what to observe as you begin.

Are consultations held virtually?

Yes. Consultations are held virtually through Zoom, allowing me to work with individuals and families regardless of location. Your Zoom information and additional appointment details will be sent to you after booking.

Do I need to purchase homeopathic medicines separately?

Yes. The cost of homeopathic medicines is separate from the consultation fee. Your personalized plan will explain what to purchase and where it can be found. Many commonly used medicines are affordable and readily available online or at natural health retailers.

How often are follow-up consultations scheduled?

Follow-ups are generally scheduled approximately eight weeks apart, although timing may vary depending on the individual and the concerns being addressed.

During a follow-up consultation, we will review what has changed, what has remained the same, and whether your plan needs to be adjusted.

What is included in the Consultation Bundle?

The Consultation Bundle includes one initial consultation and two follow-up consultations at a discounted combined rate.

Follow-ups are generally spaced approximately eight weeks apart, allowing us to observe your progress and make adjustments over time. The appointments are scheduled separately and do not need to be booked all at once.

What if I am unsure which consultation to choose?

You are welcome to schedule a complimentary 15-minute discovery call. This gives us an opportunity to briefly discuss what you are looking for, answer your initial questions, and determine which option may be the best fit for your needs.

How does payment work?

Payment is due at the time of booking. Available payment options will be provided as you complete the booking process.

What is your cancellation and rescheduling policy?

I understand that plans sometimes change. Appointments may be canceled or rescheduled online up to 24 hours before the scheduled start time. If you need to make a change within 24 hours of your appointment, please contact me directly at info@practicalhealing.co.

Classes and Study Groups

Do I need experience with homeopathy to attend a class?

No prior experience is necessary. My classes and introductory offerings are designed to make homeopathy feel practical, approachable, and manageable for everyday families.

What are Gateway to Homeopathy study groups?

Gateway to Homeopathy study groups guide participants through the carefully developed Gateway to Homeopathy curriculum created by homeopath and educator Joette Calabrese. Participants complete Joette’s prerecorded lessons and accompanying study guides independently and then meet with me for live group discussions, where we review the material, explore practical applications, and address questions in a supportive learning environment.

Gateway I introduces foundational homeopathic principles and commonly used medicines. Gateway II builds upon that foundation with additional topics, including cell salts and homeopathic support for common illnesses and emergencies.

Do I need to complete Gateway I before joining Gateway II?

Yes. Gateway I provides the foundation needed to participate in Gateway II.
